Questions about buying the Bambu Lab A1 in Australia
Is the Bambu Lab A1 genuine Australian stock?

Yes. Every Bambu Lab A1 we sell is genuine Australian stock held in our Sydney warehouse — not a grey import. 3D BRO is a certified Bambu Lab reseller in Australia.

What warranty and support do I get?

A 12-month national warranty, handled locally. 3D BRO is one of the first officially authorised Bambu Lab service and repair centres in Australia (authorised January 2026), so warranty work and technical help happen in Sydney, not overseas. Phone support: (02) 9772 4315, Mon–Fri 9:30am–5pm.

Can I pick it up in Sydney?

Yes. Choose pickup at checkout to collect from our Regents Park, Sydney warehouse and skip the courier fee. We email you as soon as your order is ready to collect.

How is a printer shipped?

In-stock printers are usually dispatched within 1 business day from our Regents Park, Sydney warehouse by tracked courier (Direct Freight, TOLL or Allied Express). Printers are not included in free shipping: delivery is $15 per printer within the Sydney area and $30 per printer to the rest of Australia. You receive a tracking number by email once it leaves the warehouse. Please inspect the carton on arrival and contact us within 24 hours if anything is damaged.

Which filament should I use with it?

Any standard 1.75 mm filament. Most of our Bambu Lab A1 customers add BIQU PLA Go — our Mix & Match offer gives bulk pricing on 10 or more rolls, and it ships with the printer. See Mix & Match

Is 3D BRO an authorised Bambu Lab reseller?

Yes. 3D BRO PTY LTD is a certified Bambu Lab reseller and an officially authorised service and repair centre in Australia, supporting education, business and consumer customers with local knowledge and after-sales service.

The Bambu Lab A1 is a full-size open-frame 3D printer with a 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume, full automatic bed levelling and a 3.5-inch colour touchscreen. It is the machine to buy if you print PLA and PETG and want Bambu Lab's automation and print quality without paying for an enclosure you would not use.

Bought from 3D BRO — a Bambu Lab authorised reseller and Australia's authorised service centre — with local warranty assistance and technical support from our Sydney team.

Open frame: what that actually means for you

The A1 has no enclosure, and that is a real limit rather than a detail. Bambu Lab lists PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA as its suitable materials, and lists ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PET and fibre-reinforced filaments as not recommended — those need trapped heat to avoid warping and layer separation, and an open printer cannot provide it.

For most people that is not a problem: PLA and PETG cover models, prototypes, jigs, replacement parts and almost all classroom work. But if ABS, ASA or carbon-fibre filaments are on your list, buy an enclosed machine such as the P1S instead. We would rather tell you now than replace a printer later.

What the A1 gets right

  • Full automatic bed levelling with load-cell sensing, so the first layer is handled for you rather than being a skill you have to acquire.
  • Quick-swap nozzle — changing from 0.4 mm to 0.2 mm for fine detail or 0.8 mm for speed takes seconds, without tools.
  • Active flow rate compensation and vibration compensation, which is how it holds surface quality at 500 mm/s.
  • Four-colour printing with the AMS Lite — see the A1 Combo for the bundle.
  • Quiet enough for a room you sit in, which an enclosed CoreXY generally is not.

A1 or A1 Mini?

The A1 Mini is the same idea in a 180 mm cube with an 80°C bed, and it costs less. Choose the full-size A1 if you want the 256 mm build volume — the difference between printing a helmet section in one piece and slicing it into four — or if you want the 100°C bed for better PETG adhesion.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Bambu Lab A1 print ABS?

Bambu Lab lists ABS as not recommended for the A1. It is an open-frame printer, so parts cool unevenly and ABS warps and splits. For ABS and ASA you want an enclosed machine such as the P1S.

Which AMS works with the A1?

Only the AMS Lite, which holds four spools. The standard AMS and AMS 2 Pro are built for the enclosed P and H series and do not fit the A1. The A1 Combo includes an AMS Lite.

Is the A1 good for schools?

Yes, and it is a common classroom choice: PLA-only printing, automatic bed levelling, a touchscreen, and no enclosure to open or supervise. Ventilate as you would for any 3D printing, and note that abrasive or high-temperature materials are outside its range.

A1 or P1S?

Materials decide it. PLA and PETG only — the A1 is better value and quieter. ABS, ASA or fibre-reinforced — you need the enclosed P1S.

Do you support the A1 in Australia?

Yes. 3D BRO is a Bambu Lab authorised reseller and an authorised service and repair centre, with technical support and warranty assistance handled locally from Regents Park, Sydney. We also stock A1 series hotends and spare parts.
