Questions about buying the Bambu Lab A1 Mini in Australia
Is the Bambu Lab A1 Mini genuine Australian stock?

Yes. Every Bambu Lab A1 Mini we sell is genuine Australian stock held in our Sydney warehouse — not a grey import. 3D BRO is a certified Bambu Lab reseller in Australia.

What warranty and support do I get?

A 12-month national warranty, handled locally. 3D BRO is one of the first officially authorised Bambu Lab service and repair centres in Australia (authorised January 2026), so warranty work and technical help happen in Sydney, not overseas. Phone support: (02) 9772 4315, Mon–Fri 9:30am–5pm.

Can I pick it up in Sydney?

Yes. Choose pickup at checkout to collect from our Regents Park, Sydney warehouse and skip the courier fee. We email you as soon as your order is ready to collect.

How is a printer shipped?

In-stock printers are usually dispatched within 1 business day from our Regents Park, Sydney warehouse by tracked courier (Direct Freight, TOLL or Allied Express). Printers are not included in free shipping: delivery is $15 per printer within the Sydney area and $30 per printer to the rest of Australia. You receive a tracking number by email once it leaves the warehouse. Please inspect the carton on arrival and contact us within 24 hours if anything is damaged.

Which filament should I use with it?

Any standard 1.75 mm filament. Most of our Bambu Lab A1 Mini customers add BIQU PLA Go — our Mix & Match offer gives bulk pricing on 10 or more rolls, and it ships with the printer. See Mix & Match

Is 3D BRO an authorised Bambu Lab reseller?

Yes. 3D BRO PTY LTD is a certified Bambu Lab reseller and an officially authorised service and repair centre in Australia, supporting education, business and consumer customers with local knowledge and after-sales service.

The Bambu Lab A1 Mini is a compact open-frame 3D printer with a 180 × 180 × 180 mm build volume, full automatic bed levelling and a touchscreen. It is the cheapest way into the Bambu Lab ecosystem and, for PLA and PETG printing on a desk, one of the easiest printers to live with.

Bought from 3D BRO — a Bambu Lab authorised reseller and Australia's authorised service centre — with local warranty assistance and technical support from our Sydney team.

Read this before you buy

Two limits decide whether the A1 Mini is right for you, and both are easier to check now than to discover later.

Build volume is 180 mm cubed. That is genuinely small — fine for miniatures, brackets, organisers, replacement knobs and most classroom projects, tight for helmets, large cosplay pieces or full-size functional parts. If you are unsure, measure the largest thing you actually intend to print.

It is open frame with an 80°C bed. Bambu Lab lists PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA as suitable, and ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PET and fibre-reinforced filaments as not recommended. Those materials need trapped heat that an open printer cannot provide. If they matter to you, look at the enclosed P1S instead.

What it does well

  • Full automatic bed levelling with load-cell sensing — first layers are handled for you, which is the single biggest source of frustration on cheaper printers.
  • Quick-swap nozzle, tool-free, so 0.2 mm for detail and 0.8 mm for speed are a few seconds apart.
  • 500 mm/s toolhead speed with active vibration and flow compensation, so speed does not cost surface quality.
  • Four-colour printing with the AMS Lite — the A1 Mini Combo includes one.
  • Small and quiet enough for a desk at 347 × 315 × 365 mm and 5.5 kg.

A1 Mini or A1?

The full-size A1 is the same machine scaled up: 256 mm cubed instead of 180, and a 100°C bed instead of 80°C, which helps PETG adhesion. If the extra build volume is worth the difference to you, take the A1 — build volume is the one thing you cannot add later.

Frequently asked questions

Is the A1 Mini good for beginners?

It is one of the easiest printers to start on: automatic bed levelling, a touchscreen, pre-tuned filament profiles and very little assembly. The limits are size and materials, not difficulty.

Can the A1 Mini print ABS?

No — Bambu Lab lists ABS as not recommended. It is open frame with an 80°C bed, so ABS parts warp and split. Use an enclosed printer such as the P1S for ABS and ASA.

How big is 180 mm really?

About the size of a 1.25 L drink bottle laid on its side. Plenty for miniatures, tools, brackets and organisers; not enough for a helmet in one piece.

Which AMS works with the A1 Mini?

Only the AMS Lite, four spools. The A1 Mini Combo includes one, and buying them together costs less than adding it later.

Do you support the A1 Mini in Australia?

Yes. 3D BRO is a Bambu Lab authorised reseller and an authorised service and repair centre, with technical support and warranty assistance handled locally from Regents Park, Sydney. We also stock A1 series hotends and spare parts.
