Bambu Lab Fleet Hub local integration hub for Bambu printer fleets

Bambu Lab Fleet Hub

Bambu Lab Fleet Hub is a local integration hub designed for schools, universities, businesses and print farms that need to connect compatible Bambu Lab printers into their own internal systems.

Fleet Hub is not a normal USB hub, and it is not a plug-and-play printer management app. Its main purpose is to provide a local integration layer so your own software can manage printer access, print job submission, approval workflows, printer status and maintenance alerts.

  • Local network integration for compatible Bambu Lab printers
  • Designed for internal ERP, MES, booking portal or school system integration
  • Supports permission control and approval-based print workflows
  • Allows printer status and failure information to be synced back to your system
  • Supports up to 50 compatible devices per hub
  • Requires custom software development
  • 3D BRO custom integration support available
How Bambu Lab Fleet Hub fits into internal software and printer workflow

Connect Bambu Printers to Your Internal System

Fleet Hub sits inside your local network and acts as a secure connection layer between your internal software and your compatible Bambu Lab printers.

Your ERP, MES, school portal, booking system, production dashboard or custom application can communicate with Fleet Hub through local API integration. Fleet Hub then helps pass approved commands to printers and return printer status information back to your system.

  • Your internal system handles users, permissions and job records
  • Fleet Hub provides the local connection layer to compatible printers
  • Approved jobs can be sent from your system to the printer fleet
  • Printer status can be returned to your system for monitoring and maintenance

Typical School & University Workflow

For education customers, the key value of Fleet Hub is not just connecting many printers. The real value is integrating 3D printers into the school’s existing internal management system so printing can be controlled, reviewed and tracked properly.

For example, students or staff submit print jobs through the school system first. A teacher, lab manager, faculty leader or authorised staff member reviews the request. Only after approval does the system send the job to a printer through Fleet Hub.

1. Submit Student or staff submits a print job
2. Review Teacher or manager checks the request
3. Approve Approved job is released by the system
4. Print Job is sent to the printer via Fleet Hub
5. Sync Status is returned to the internal system

This allows schools to create a controlled 3D printing workflow where users do not send files directly to printers. Instead, all jobs can go through permission checks, approval rules, usage records and status tracking.

Example use cases for Bambu Lab Fleet Hub in schools print farms and engineering teams

Example Use Cases

School or University Lab

A school connects Bambu Lab printers to its internal student or staff portal. Users submit print jobs through the portal, teachers or authorised staff approve the jobs, and printer status is synced back to the system.

Print Farm Dashboard

A print farm connects dozens of printers to a custom dashboard for queue control, production visibility, printer status checks, job history and operator monitoring.

Engineering or R&D Team

An engineering team connects printers to an internal workflow so prototype jobs can be tracked, approved, assigned and monitored as part of the product development process.

Business or Enterprise Workflow

A business connects printers to an ERP, MES or internal production system, allowing print jobs, approvals, printer status and failure alerts to be managed inside existing business processes.

One Bambu Lab Fleet Hub supports up to 50 compatible devices based on CPU load

Capacity & Deployment Notes

Each Fleet Hub can support up to 50 compatible devices. This limit is based on CPU load and system capacity, so it should be treated as a real deployment limit rather than an unlimited connection count.

  • 1 Fleet Hub: up to 50 compatible devices
  • More than 50 devices: use multiple Fleet Hubs
  • Reason for limit: CPU load and system capacity
  • Deployment planning: recommended before purchase
Important: If your printer fleet may grow beyond 50 devices, the system should be planned around multiple Fleet Hubs from the beginning.
Bambu Lab Fleet Hub requires custom software development and integration

Important: Custom Software Development Required

Fleet Hub cannot be used independently by itself. It does not provide a complete ready-made printer management software package on its own.

Your team, developer or integration partner needs to build the software layer that connects your internal system to Fleet Hub. This may include user login, permission rules, job submission, approval workflow, file handling, printer selection, job release, printer status sync and failure alerts.

Before purchase:
Fleet Hub is suitable for developer-led or business-led integration projects. If you are looking for a simple plug-and-play printer control device with no coding or system integration, this product may not be suitable.

Who Should Buy Fleet Hub?

Fleet Hub is recommended for organisations that want to connect Bambu Lab printers into an existing internal system or build a controlled printer management workflow.

  • Schools and universities that need printer access control for students and staff
  • Education labs that need teacher or manager approval before printing
  • Organisations that want print jobs submitted through an ERP, MES, booking portal or internal system
  • Teams that need printer status, failure alerts and job results returned to their own system
  • Print farms that need queue control, production visibility and central monitoring
  • Engineering teams that need prototype jobs tracked, approved and monitored
  • Businesses that want to build a custom 3D printing workflow around existing internal processes

Who Should Not Buy Fleet Hub?

Fleet Hub may not be suitable if you only want a ready-made printer management app without any software development or system integration work.

  • Not suitable if you expect a complete plug-and-play print management software package
  • Not suitable if you do not plan to connect it to your own system, dashboard or workflow
  • Not suitable if there is no developer, IT team, integration partner or 3D BRO custom development support involved
  • Not required for normal single-printer use through Bambu Studio or Bambu Handy
  • Not required if users will continue sending print jobs directly to each printer without approval or workflow control

Good Fit vs Poor Fit

Good fit:

  • “We want students to submit print jobs through our school system.”
  • “Teachers or lab managers need to approve jobs before printing.”
  • “We need printer status, failures and job results synced back to our internal system.”
  • “We want to integrate Bambu printers into our ERP, MES, booking portal or internal dashboard.”
  • “We have developers, an IT team, or want 3D BRO to assist with custom integration.”

Poor fit:

  • “We just want a simple device that controls printers without any coding.”
  • “We only have one printer and are happy using Bambu Studio or Bambu Handy.”
  • “We do not have an internal system and do not want custom development.”
  • “We expect Fleet Hub to work as a full print management software platform by itself.”

3D BRO Custom Integration Support

If your team has limited software development capability, 3D BRO can assist with tailored Fleet Hub integration support. We can help review your workflow, understand your printer fleet, design the integration logic and develop a custom connection between your internal system and Fleet Hub.

This can be useful for schools, universities, businesses and print farms that need controlled 3D printing workflows but do not have the internal development resources to build the full integration by themselves.

Custom integration support may include:

  • Workflow and requirement review
  • Printer fleet and network planning
  • User permission and approval workflow design
  • Custom API integration development
  • Dashboard, booking portal, ERP or school system integration
  • Printer status sync, failure alerts and maintenance workflow planning
  • Testing, deployment and refinement support
